a while ago, my orca got blown up after a spy took it and self destructed it. this got me thinking, we can password protect our can to keep this from happening, why not our ships? even cars need keys to start. why is it, hundreds of thousands of years in the future, can ANYONE just hop in your ride and do whatever they want with it? why are couple thousand isk cans more secure than our multi million isk ships?

EVE Not Hello Kitty..
CCP dont protect your **** you do.
First rule of EVE.. Trust NOONE.... Applies to corps not just chars :)
i do want to protect my ****, but CCP needs to give me the means to do so. its not like i can just slap a masterlock on my ship because its CCPs game!

well you see, i live in null sec, inside a pos. and a ship maint array has a limited ammt of space, and the orca is a BIG thing, about as big as a carrier. so, i decided to keep my orca outside of the array but still in the pos shields so that all my fellow corp mates don't clutter the pos shields with tones of ships that wont fit. i figured that one big ship outside in the shields is better than a lot of small ships outside in the shields, makes it easier for us to scan down hostiles when they come in. but, one fateful day, some jackass spy came and messed everything up to compensate for his lack of love from his parents or something. then i wrote a on the forum about how there should be passwords on ships, and then i found $5. true story, all of it.

tl;dr ccp do provide you with mean of storing your ship with saftey. YOU chose not to use that.
ok, fine. but i still don't see why our ships CAN'T have have passwords other than lazy ccp, even then the code is already written for cans and can probably be easily modified for ships. give me one good reason why this would be a bad idea.

because then people cant steal your ships you leave in space
i could leave my erebus floating in a pos and it be safe, eve isnt meant to be safe..
first of all i believe titans are bigger than pos shields so it could still be DESTROYED, only you would not be in it. second of all, it would still be bump-able, but it does add another layer of protection, enough time for me to get online and say kick that sad pathetic spies ass. third, your password can still be leaked if the ship is a corp/alliance asset (or you just have loose lips). its not like that ship will be locked to that particular toon. fourth, if i am remembering game mechanics right.... the password can still be cracked by code breaker, but its still another layer of security that i would like to have.

there is no need for pass protected ships. use the mecanics in place.
<<<< hello kitty is that way
or
HTFU.
ok, titans fit in large shields there is a need for password protected ships, if just for the sake of common sense (see first post). hello kitty (if there is such a game) is not that way, nor do i have any interest in it. and STFU get out of my thread you piece of dirt, the mindless crap you spew out is not even worth the electrons it takes to power the LEDs on my monitor. KKTHXBYE.

also ... where did you get that rumor that you can hack giant secure cans with a code breaker?
i dunno, an idiot? sounded believable. didn't look it up any further because it didn't interest me.
